Hac-wr-m Electronic Backpack is a low-power product that integrates metering data collection and communication transmission. It is compatible with Maddalena and Sensus meters, all of which feature standard mounting brackets and inductive coil dry-type single-jet flow meters. It can monitor abnormal conditions such as reverse flow, water leakage, and low battery voltage, and report them to the management platform. The system offers low cost, easy network maintenance, high reliability, and strong scalability.

The device supports two data reporting methods. The first is a touch‑based method: you must perform a long touch (more than 2 seconds) followed by a short touch (less than 2 seconds) on the touch button, with both actions completed within 5 seconds; otherwise the trigger is invalid. The second is timed active data reporting, where the periodic reporting period (600–86400 s) and the scheduled reporting time (0–23 h) can be set; the actual reporting time is calculated based on the device’s DeviceEui, the periodic period, and the scheduled time. The default periodic period is 28800 s and the default scheduled time is 6 h. The device supports a non‑magnetic metering mode and a power‑down storage function, so there is no need to re‑initialise the measurement value after power‑off. When forward rotation measurement exceeds 10 pulses, the anti‑disassembly alarm function becomes active; if the device is disassembled, both the disassembly flag and the historical disassembly flag show faults simultaneously. After the device is reinstalled, once forward rotation measurement exceeds 10 pulses and communication with the non‑magnetic module is normal, the disassembly fault is cleared. The device can store 10 years of annual frozen data and monthly frozen data for the last 128 months, and the cloud platform can query this historical data. Parameter settings can be performed wirelessly either remotely or locally: remote setting is done via the cloud platform, while local setting is done through a production test tool using wireless communication or infrared communication. Finally, the device supports infrared upgrading.
