For meter retrofit projects, commissioning serves a critical purpose: validating seamless coordination and normal operation across the entire system, including mechanical meters, Pulse Readers, communication networks, and cloud data platforms.
A comprehensive on-site inspection covers these key verification items:
  •  Correct mounting and installation position of the Pulse Reader
  •  Consistent pulse acquisition data matching the mechanical meter readings
  •  Accurate and complete configuration of all device parameters
  •  Stable wireless signal and connectivity at the installation site
  •  Correct binding and association between devices and meter records
  •  Successful reception and validation of initial operational data
These verification steps may appear trivial during small-scale pilot projects. However, as deployments scale up to hundreds or thousands of endpoints, a standardized, repeatable commissioning workflow becomes indispensable.
Identifying installation flaws, configuration errors or communication failures during the commissioning phase is far more efficient than troubleshooting missing or anomalous data post-deployment.
