Upgrade Traditional Water Meters: Wired or Wireless

Upgrading traditional water meters doesn’t always require replacement. Existing meters can be modernized through wireless or wired solutions, bringing them into the smart water management era.

Wireless upgrades are ideal for pulse-output meters. By adding data collectors, readings can be transmitted via LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, or Cat.1 LTE, enabling real-time monitoring without complex wiring. This low-cost, quick-to-deploy approach suits distributed buildings, remote sites, and urban environments.

Wired upgrades target non-pulse meters, using interfaces such as RS-485, M-Bus, or Modbus with DTLS encryption. They provide highly accurate, secure, and reliable data, making them perfect for industrial facilities and high-demand applications.

Both approaches allow utilities and property managers to unlock the value of existing infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, detect leaks early, and move toward sustainable, digital water management.
